On this private tour exploring Tokyo, we'll discover the most important destinations in Japan's capital, some of its most interesting neighborhoods, and undoubtedly, various hidden gems. We'll appreciate the cultural contrast between this vast, ultramodern/futuristic metropolis and its more traditional, historical side.

Plan

After meeting you at your hotel at the designated time, we'll head to the traditional Asakusa district, home to Tokyo's oldest temple, Senso-ji, founded in 645. We'll also visit the torii gate (Thunder Gate), the street lined with handicrafts and traditional food, the area where art flourished, and the street that housed the most important businesses of the time. Next, we'll admire the Tokyo Skytree and stroll along the harbor overlooking the Sumida River. The tour continues to Tokyo Bay and Odaiba Island, where we'll explore the bay observation deck, the Fuji TV building, and the replica of the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France. Here, you'll also find the 18-meter-tall life-size Gundam unicorn within the Discover City Tokyo Plaza complex. Finally, we'll conclude the tour in the famous Shibuya district, with its bustling crossing, dazzling lights, and a visit to Hachiko Square, the site of the famous dog Hachiko.

We end the tour by dropping them off at their hotel or at a strategic point so they can continue enjoying themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend a minimum of 10 days to see Tokyo, Kyoto, and take a day trip. If you have 14 days, you can create a more comprehensive itinerary by adding other cities of interest. And if you have 20 days, you can see most of the main attractions.

If you arrive at Narita, the fastest way to get to Tokyo is by taking the Narita Express or the Skyliner on the Keisei Line. If you arrive at Haneda, you can travel by monorail.

If you're flying into KIX (Kansai Airport) and your final destination is Kyoto, we recommend the Haruka Express (included in the JR Pass). If your final destination is Osaka, we recommend either the Haruka Express (arriving at Umeda Station) or the Nankai Rapid Express (arriving at Namba Station).

The best seasons are spring and autumn. The mild weather, cherry blossoms, and the changing colors of the leaves in autumn make these the most appealing.

Japan uses flat-prong plugs, similar to those in the United States. The voltage in Japan is 100 V, with two different frequencies depending on whether you are in the east (50 Hz) or west (60 Hz) of the country.
